I have made a conscious decision in my work to concentrate on using discarded and abandoned items creating pieces that have soul carrying layered stories of their original owners... these become my art supplies, highlighting our desperate need to buy new and not contribute to the circular economy but to the sea of waste that pollutes our Earth, our brains and our hearts.  I try and pay homage to the the generations of women who have worked with a needle to clothe our bodies and our homes through necessity and love, transforming the worn and tired into objects of reflection and reckoning, questioning societal norms that value utility over humanity and appearance over essence.
