I have made a conscious decision in my work to use discarded and abandoned items creating pieces that have soul, carrying layered stories of their original owners.  These become my art supplies,  contributing to the circular economy and not to the sea of plastic that pollutes our Earth, our brains and our hearts.  I pay homage to the the generations of women who have worked with a needle to clothe our bodies and our homes through necessity and love, transforming worn and tired into objects of reflection and reckoningquestioning societal norms that value utility over humanity and appearance over essence.
